Being remarkable

Don’t live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable.

Wendy Wasserstein

Try this: Watch yourself, watch your behaviour, your actions, your habits, and ask yourself -Why am I doing this? Am I doing this because I really want to or because everybody is doing it, because I feel this expectation that I should be and act conformable.

In most cases this questioning won’t lead to a change. You wont start reinventing your life, but as soon as questioning the purpose of everything becomes a reflex, you’ll recognize instantly when you drift from living your own life to living some different expectations. And nothing holds you back from being and acting remarkable…

Be yourself

Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe, shine through every sentence you write, every piece you finish.

John Jakes

Save the energy which is needed to pretend to be someone different. Be comfortable with who you are and show it. Be authentic, it will pay off…

Learn

Rick Mereki, Tim White, Andrew Lees

Learning is a key element in our entire life. Learning doesn’t end with school or university. It’s essential for gaining experinence, becoming open minded or getting a change of perspective. So don’t be afraid of using any possiblity to try new things. It may be much easier to stick with the familiar but it surely doesn’t lead to a life wich can be called “fully lived”.

So get out there, travel, try something new, learn….

NOW

If you look on life carefully it seems to be an awful lot of waiting. But what for? In general the only thing which becomes better while you become older are your possibilites of consumption. Your mind and body fitness and regeneration decreases, responibilites increase…. but don’t be depressed.

You never will be as young as you are NOW. There will never be so much time to life left as NOW. And the one time chance to live your life is always NOW. So don’t wait for your 5-year plan to complete, don’t wait for summer, don’t wait till tommorow.

Live now…

You are an explorer

You are an explorer! Your mission is to document and observe the world around you as if you’ve never seen it before. Take notes. Collect things you find on your travels. Document your findings. Notice patterns. Copy. Trace. Focus on one thing at a time. Record what you are drawn to.

Every now and then you should check if you can still amaze yourself by taking a close look at the world around you…

There is a field

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I will meet you there.

Rumi

Sometimes it is important not to limit yourself to categories like right or wrong, good or bad…. to allow your mind to think freely.

Are you lucky?

Even luck needs practice.

Have you ever asked yourself why some people have so much more luck than others when luck itself has the trait to be totally random?

Luck is random indeed but most people have a lifestyle which prevents them from being lucky.  When your follow a strict overstuffed schedule every day it leaves luck no time to hit you. When you are a very withdrawn person who spends never goes to meet (new) people you don’t even have the possibility to have the luck to meet future friends, love, inspiration… And another reason why social relations help you being lucky is that most opportunities you get in life are give by or are related to the people you know.

So be open-minded, be communicative and leave room and time for the unexpected…
