A friend of mine recently introduced me to a new concept of motivation and a nice idea for a simple reminder in our everyday life.
The idea is the following: As soon as you set yourself a goal (preferably a daily one), you put a rubber band around your wrist, let’s say your left one. For example: Your goal is to make 50 pushups on a daily basis. Every morning you will put your rubber band on your left wrist and it stays there as long as you have not completed your 50 push-ups.
Once you have achieved your daily goal though, the rubber band switches wrists and sits on your right wrist for the rest of the day (Or you can take it off).
This is a great way of reminding you again and again and it also provides a good feeling of “having something achieved” as soon as you see the rubber on your “done”-side.
One additional tip: Use a hair tie instead of a common household rubber band as it is way more comfortable.
