About getting Motivation back

Whenever you are working on a task, may it be your homework or your lifetime dream,

and you come to that point when your motivation drops away. There are two ways to get your motivation back on track. First you can focus on the part you already achieved. Second you can focus on you goal and imagine how great you’ll feel once you’ve reached it. But these two strategies don’t always work same as good.

So… when you haven’t even finished the first half of you task it is much more motivating to focus on the progress you already made instead of the far away goal. But when you work on and your goal and it comes in sight its better to focus on the approaching sucess. Mind this and get yourself motivated again…

Make use of your skills

If you don’t build your dream someone will hire you to help build theirs.

Tony Gaskins

You do have some kind of dream do you? Everybody has something they always wanted to do, something they always wanted to say, SOMETHING!

So go get it! Don’t waste your time and your talent for some other guy who just uses you to achieve his goals.
Don’t get me wrong: Helping people is awesome and it is a good thing to do. But you have to take care of your own ambitions, never lose focus!

Time will pass anyway

Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.

You have a bright future ahead!

Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

Doug Ivester

If you find yourself thinking about your past too often, there has to be something wrong.

While the past can be awesome and fun to look at you should never dwell in it because you live now and soon will live in the future. As long as you spectate your past self you are not going to achieve something with your present self. And in some years when you want to look back on your bright past you will have to look further and further away of your current position.

Don’t go there, be awesome now!

How the school system can fuck up your mind

Today I talked to a buddy at the university about nothing in particular when this happened:

Buddy: I’d be happy if I made more money than my professor some day.
Since we study economics I assured him that he probably will if he goes in the open economy
Him: Only if I am good at what I do.
Me: Well, are you?
Him: I don’t know if I will be
Me: Well, why wouldn’t you?
Him: How would I know, I have not written any tests so far

I could not believe that he actually said and believed that. He honestly thinks his success in tests and in university in general defines his later work life!

How can our school system fuck that hard with the mind of a young person? I can’t believe that people really think that way, this is so damn limiting!

What about following your dreams, believing in your ideas? What about the passion that young people always have? If you ask a child what he wants to be when he grows up he sure as hell won’t say: I wanna be a firefighter, but therefore I have to study hard and be an honorable person.

He will reply: I want to be James Bond, I want to be a firefighter, heck I want to be a billionaire!

I don’t say that education is not important or should be taken lightly but everything has to have boundaries and if you really think your success in several years from now on depends on how well you do in some tests right now, there must be something wrong.
How great must this pressure be? If I fail now, I won’t have a good job in ten years?

Wow, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT apply this attitude to your life!

Go where you want to go and take important tasks serious but damn have fun on the way and don’t worry too much. It will all work out! It always has and it always will work out, trust me on this one.

And now go out and enjoy yourself!

An idea of work

When you think about work you should not think about something negative.

Your work should complete you as a person, it should embody your ideas and ideals.

Phil

I hate it when people start like “Meeeh, have to go to work again tommorow.”

I can understand when people have a little day-job just to get some bucks in order to support their real ideas of work. When they work in order to gain support for other plans, because, well, money is important after all.

But the attitude that you work in order to earn money to have a nice free time is just bullshit!

You want to tell me that you have to be bored or stressed out 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, just to have the so called freedom to do what you want? If that is your idea of freedom than you are a sad excuse for a human being.

Freedom is doing whatever you love for your living. It is this because only when you love what you  are doing you can truly be excellent. You have to embrace your work, you have to fullfill your dreams with your work.

Work is not at all a negative term. I love that I have work to to, I easily get bored when I can’t work towards my dreams. I know that it is not like this with everyone but noone should hate their work. If you don’t like your job, quit!

Again, I do not talk about side-jobs to earn some extra pocket money, I talk about jobs that finance your life.

Everybody can do what he dreams of, you just have to have the courage to dig through a lot of tough shit in order to get there. But believe me: It is worth it! Keep digging, we’ll meet at the other side 😉

So who do you hang out with?

The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best.

Epictetus

It is very important to keep people around you that challenge you to be a better person.

People that challenge you to be the best you possibly can be!

There is a saying that tells you that you can get the personality of a person by looking at its three closest friends and there is a lot of truth in this. The people who you constantly spent time with change you in a lot of ways, their behaviour reflects on you and you will eventually be changed by them.

If you keep lazy people around you, people without aims, without dreams, without passion then your dreams will rotten. They will slowly die and it is damn hard to work against that.

So be careful who you hang out with. It really is a game-changer to actively choose your peer group in order to grow. Think about it, think about who you hang out with and see what you get out of that.

You need desire!

Double-Quote time!

You need a strong desire in order to achieve greatness! Here are two awesome quotes to back this up:

Great success comes only with great ambition.

Jackie Chan

And

If your desire is pale and flabby, your achievements will also take on that hue and consistency. But, if you go after your subject with persistence, and with the energy of a bulldog after a cat, nothing underneath the Milky Way will defeat you!

Andrew Carnegie
