Again: Make mistakes!

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.

Terry Pratchett

This is one of the most fundamental lessons of motivation in my eyes.

Make mistakes! Make a lot of them and enjoy every single one.

Making no mistakes should never be the aim for not making mistake involving not trying anything new. I pitty the people who never make mistakes for making mistakes is one the best things people can do in their free time.

Can you help out with some solutions?

If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.

An idea of work

When you think about work you should not think about something negative.

Your work should complete you as a person, it should embody your ideas and ideals.

Phil

I hate it when people start like “Meeeh, have to go to work again tommorow.”

I can understand when people have a little day-job just to get some bucks in order to support their real ideas of work. When they work in order to gain support for other plans, because, well, money is important after all.

But the attitude that you work in order to earn money to have a nice free time is just bullshit!

You want to tell me that you have to be bored or stressed out 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, just to have the so called freedom to do what you want? If that is your idea of freedom than you are a sad excuse for a human being.

Freedom is doing whatever you love for your living. It is this because only when you love what you  are doing you can truly be excellent. You have to embrace your work, you have to fullfill your dreams with your work.

Work is not at all a negative term. I love that I have work to to, I easily get bored when I can’t work towards my dreams. I know that it is not like this with everyone but noone should hate their work. If you don’t like your job, quit!

Again, I do not talk about side-jobs to earn some extra pocket money, I talk about jobs that finance your life.

Everybody can do what he dreams of, you just have to have the courage to dig through a lot of tough shit in order to get there. But believe me: It is worth it! Keep digging, we’ll meet at the other side 😉

Why not?

If you have to question wether you do something or not,

you should not ask why but rather why not.

Phil

I just learned something about the career of Lena Meyer-Landrut. For those of you who don’t know her, she won the Eurovision Song Contest some time ago and became an over-night popstar in an instant. I don’t want to go into the topic of music or pop music, I don’t want to talk about taste or preferences.

What I do want to talk about is this: Before she started in that show, she never had anything to do with professional music. Neither did she play an instrument nor did she ever take singing lessons. You know why she attended the casting? She though: Why not, let’s try something new!

And now look where that attitude has brought her!

Again, I don’t want to rate the quality of her success, I just want to show you how you can impressively expand your possibilities just by applying the “why not”-attitude.

You can do it!

To never get it wrong

Amateurs train until they get it right. Professionals train until they never get it wrong.

Despite being sport-related this quote is important to everyone!

Think about it: When you learn for something or train for something, what is your goal? Your goal is to get it right. That is a good goal, but it does not help much because when someone asks you if you could you do it, you will hestitate and think to yourself: “Hmm I’ve done it once, but can I do it now? Here? In front of people?” BAM! You lost. Right there.

That is why pros train for never getting it wrong! That’s when you know you get it right every damn time and you can proudly say: “I can do that!”

This should be your goal!

How to live

I have always lived violently, drunk hugely, eaten too much or not at all, slept around the clock or missed two nights of sleeping, worked too hard and too long in glory, or slobbed for a time in utter laziness. I’ve lifted, pulled, chopped, climbed, made love with joy and taken my hangovers as a consequence, not as a punishment.

John Steinbeck

Live! Honestly, live life to the fullest!

Don’t try to be perfect, don’t waste your time thinking about what if. Things come and go, Times change and there are times to rest and times to wort. Don’t worry too much, just be true to yourself and happy.

Start small if you have to but start!

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Always keep in mind that tasks can be broken down into small pieces.

Never say there is a task too hard or too big for you! Just start making small steps towards your goal and eventually you will get there, trust me!

Just go for it!

You have to be prepared to fail and you have to take this risk willingly!

You will get knocked down often if you are doing it right, but only by this you can learn and grow!
