Being remarkable

Don’t live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable.

Wendy Wasserstein

Try this: Watch yourself, watch your behaviour, your actions, your habits, and ask yourself -Why am I doing this? Am I doing this because I really want to or because everybody is doing it, because I feel this expectation that I should be and act conformable.

In most cases this questioning won’t lead to a change. You wont start reinventing your life, but as soon as questioning the purpose of everything becomes a reflex, you’ll recognize instantly when you drift from living your own life to living some different expectations. And nothing holds you back from being and acting remarkable…

What’s up with that attitude?

Your attitude is either the lock on, or the key to the door of success.

Denis Waitley

It can not be stressed enough: Attitude is so damn important!

It is the key element to success. Without attitude you won’t achieve anything!

Take education for example: While in school you always had a hard time learning for classes you did not like. You just could not keep that stuff in your head. Other things that interested you were no problem. That is so much attitude! Just tell yourself that you WANT to do something when you know you have to do it, but don’t start a job knowing that you do not wish to complete it.

Opportunities reveal themselves to the busy ones

I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.

Thomas Jefferson

The concept of luck is hard to discuss, but no matter what you think about it: The more you do, the more you work, the more possibilities and opportunities you will get. Opportunities don’t come to those who sit around all day doing nothing.

Get your opportunities, get going!

Do not stop learning!

Think you are smart? Well so do I. But guess what, being smart won’t cut it, you need to be more.

Genius without education is like silver in the mine.

Benjamin Franklin

Never stop learning!

I don’t talk about school or university necessarily, but about learning in general. Never stop learning new things and always be open to new concepts!

You have a bright future ahead!

Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

Doug Ivester

If you find yourself thinking about your past too often, there has to be something wrong.

While the past can be awesome and fun to look at you should never dwell in it because you live now and soon will live in the future. As long as you spectate your past self you are not going to achieve something with your present self. And in some years when you want to look back on your bright past you will have to look further and further away of your current position.

Don’t go there, be awesome now!

About new ideas

Never touch a running system? I say improvement is always possible! And:

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower

Steve Jobs

You have to think of new concepts and try them out constantly. Eventually you will make your world a better place by improving things in general.

Prepare well

Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.

Abraham Lincoln

Actually doing the job may be more fun than the boring preparations but in fact these boring preparations are the things tha make it fun in the first place.

Like in the quote, chopping down the tree for six hours with a blunt axe would suck. Shaprening the axe would just bore you four hours, after that you would have two hours smooth sailing and also possibly better results.

Always take time for good preparations, it is worth it.

Reveal yourself

Become who you are!

Friedrich Nietzsche

Life is about finding out who you really are and having the courage to live according to this.

You can do it!

Being awesome for dummies

It’s simple … go the extra mile and you will stand out from the crowd.

Robin Crow

Well at least in theory 😉

But actually it really is this simple, just work a little bit harder, stay a little big longer and become a little bit better, it will pay off!

Easier said than done?

The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his action.

Confucius

There is nothing to add here, awesome quote!
