Hell!Β There ain’t no rules around here!Β We’re trying to accomplish somep’n.
Thomas Alva Edison
I really like this one because of its profound message. When you want to accomplish something you try to do so and give your best. Your are determinend and don’t waste your time with guidelines and stuff like that. You want to create something new, how can you work along with existing rules? Edison was right not to believe in the rules and limiting beliefs the peoeple had at his time and invented the fucking light bulb, so take him as an example for the truth of this lesson π
This is a quote in relation to the one of the 27th of October when I wrote about actually going out and doing stuff. You might read it again to get yourselve in the mood to actually DO things on your way to success π
And don’t worry, if you don’t have an exact plan, Success is 10% inspiration, 90% last-minute changes. π
Happiness is being the creator of your experience, choosing to take pleasure in what you have, right now, regardless of the circumstances, while being the best you that you can be.
Alex Shalman
Some little things about happiness: In order to be happy you have to DO things on purpose, you have to chose to be happy. Acutally Being Happy is a conscious choice, it is an active movement and it can be trained. You can chose wether you want to be happy and a “Maker” or you want to be a victim.
Of course it is easy to be full of self-pitty and search for others to blame, search for others to take responsibility for your situation. But in the end you are the one who suffers the results, no matter who takes responsibility for it. So why don’t you just start taking responsibility for your own happy life and don’t let the false assumption that external factors can define your happiness distract you.
Another quote, which is related to this thought might be
If you donβt design your own life plan, chances are youβll fall into someone elseβs plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much
Jim Rohn
And here is some happy stuff for you at the end of todays dailymote π
Before I forget it: I’ll be in the Netherlands from today till monday so I’m not sure wether I’ll be able to keep you updated with content. Nevertheless, if you need some motivation, just shove this video right up your face and (although I think some of the clips are definitely fake) realise: People are awesome! Together with the fact that what anyone can achieve you can also achieve, watching this video is quite an inspiring thing.
Shoot for the moon.Β Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.
Les Brown
This should not be taken literaly of course, but I just like the idea behind it. The idea of setting yourself very big goals in order to achieve something big and nice. It is not that important that you reach your goal as you imagined them, which is impossible because how could you be able to imagine your future that exact? π Just set yourself big hairy goals and stick to your plans and the outcome will be astonishing beatiful!
He who is outside his door has the hardest part of his journey behind him
Dutch proverb
This one is about leaving your comfort zone. If you start doing stuff it is natural to go outside βinto the worldβ and achieve things. I donβt say that you canβt achieve something at home or that you canβt develop personally at home, actually your home is essential for your development and it is important, but if you want to achieve something great, you have to take the guts and go out there. Thatβs why normally itβs half the rent if you just take your lazy ass out of your comfy chair or couch and get out of your home, out of your comfort zone.
It will take time to get used to βgo outsideβ, but remember for example you being a kid. Didnβt it feel natural to go and play outside? It was not interesting if the weather was good or not, we just felt the urge to do so. Today many of us lost that urge and are used to relax in our homes, braindead and idling. Stop that, get up, get out!
There are no easy methods of learning difficult things; the method is to close your door, give out that you are not at home, and work!
Joseph de Maistre
I like this quote because it idealizes keeping external diversion away from yourselves. Just think about it: You want to learn a song on the guitar. So you take 2 hours of your time every day, when you shut down your computer, pulll out your phone, close your door and pretend you are not at home. You are just not available to others at that time of the day, because you commit yourselve to playing guitar with 100% of your attention. You are 100% present, physically and psychically!
That is how you really improve, but of course it is a very drastic way and just an idealization. Try and find the right amount for you personally.
