Move it!

Nobody cares about your excuses. Nobody pities you for procrastinating. Nobody is going to coddle you because you are lazy. It’s your ass. You move it.

Steer your mind in the right direction

The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.

Brian Tracy

This one is important and I wrote about it several times in different forms.

Your mind is extremely powerful and you have to guide it well!

For example: You are facing a test, let’s say you make the driver’s license. What you want to focus on are thoughts like “I’m going to be a driver soon” “I will pass the test” “I will drive on the streets in a car whenever I want  to”. Think positively and think about what you will achieve, not about what you might fail or lose.

This positive attitude will motivate you much more than plain fear of failure and the good thing is: You will like to think about it. Thinking about failure can lead to escapism which is not what you want. Do not think “This is too much to tackle, I’ll stay in bed”, rather think “Wow, I will do this, let’s start right now!”

It works wonders!

About chores

You do what you have to do, to do what you want to do.

Patricia Fripp

Sometimes there is stuff you do not want to do.

I personally do not like to study for university. Who does? But sometimes you have to push trough those nasty chores in order to get where you wanted to.

Bear this in mind the next time an unwanted and unpleasant task awaits.

Discipline!

Discipline is the foundation upon which all success is built. Lack of discipline inevitably leads to failure.

Jim Rohn

Yup, talent is awesome. So are great circumstances or plain luck. But also hard work and dedication! And while you do not have controll over talent, circumstances or luck you do have controll over your own discipline!

Discipline will lead to success. Set yourself a goal, think about how to achieve it and work your ass off! It does not get any harder, and not simpler.

I do know how hard it can be, believe me. But I also do know that every single one of you (including me) is able to be disciplined.

You know the saying: You either face the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. I chose discipline, what will you?

50k!

BAM! Almost one year ago I posted that I was super stoked about my first 10 000 visitors on motivatingdaily.com (Read the post here)

Today, little over two years after starting this blog without any clue on how it would grow I can proudly announce that I’ve reached the 50k!

50 000 people!

Last year I said “Thanks again and let’s hit the 100k“, which now seems so damn close! Thanks to you guys, who read, commented, liked and shared my posts!

I am honoured to have that many readers, still counting!

So, again, like last year, thank you a lot for your support!

By the way, I realised that with over 200 followers many of you probably do not visit the page itself that often, do you? So I ask you for a favour: When you read this celebration post, please visit motivatingdaily.com in your browser. I am curious what sort of impact this will have on my stats 🙂 Thanks in advance!

You like motivatingdaily? Go tell your friends (and enemies, maybe they need it the most). You do not like something or have some suggestions? Awesome, go tell me, I’m always glad to improve this site!

So far, let’s hit another 50k an we’ll talk again 🙂

50k!

Be good, do good

Do not try to be different, just be good. To be good is different enough.

Happy! Hap- Hap- HAPPY!

Be happy for no reason, like a child.

If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken away from you.

Deepak Chopra

It’s simple as that: Be happy.

Being happy is an independent state, not influenced by circumstances.

Be. Happy.

Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.

Take what you want

The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.

Ayn Rand

Why wait for permissions?

Why wait for the good things in life to come to you?

Take what you want! Do what you like and work hard for your goals. You will be surprised how well this simple formula works out.

And read Ayn Rand. Her books are long, complex and not an easy read. But it is worth every second you put into it.

Read Ayn Rand.

Ah well and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!  🙂
