What’s a mistake?

If you make a mistake and do not correct it, this is called a mistake.

Enjoy learning

To be fond of learning is near to wisdom.

Confucius

This has not that much to do with your school education, although it can be applied there.

It is more about a general interest in learning new things and in understanding how things work. Foster that interest and never stop learning.

About job choices

My job often requires being up pretty early or working pretty late. While this fact can be tiresome, I always look forward to new tasks and am generally more fit on work mornings, because I am grateful for my job and like the work I do, a lot.

It is important to chose a job that motivates you. As long as you have to motivate yourself to get the job done, you have clearly chosen the wrong job (Or you are in a situation where you have to get over some obstacles in order to reach your dream job, never mind that)

Find a job that you do with passion and enthusiasm, a job that motivates you to get up early, work hard, work long hours and generally put a lot of good effort into, and you have made great progress on your path to happiness.

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Focus!

Person who chases two rabbits catches neither.

Confucius

It is important to focus and to set priorities. You do not have the time, energy or skill to do several important tasks at once and if you try, you will realize that your work will be half-assed and not merely as good as if you had done them separately.

Know when to say no, know when to set priorities straight and know what to do with your time and energy. You are very powerful but you have to focus your abilities.

Compare yourself to a water hose. You can have a small opening to create a firm and tiny water jet or you can have a big fuzzy opening to create a undefined and unfocused water jet. In the latter case you will need unbelievable amounts of pressure to get a good and firm water jet while in the first case you have a way better output in terms of vigour with a lot less input power.

Focus will help you a lot to go easy an your resources.

Just do it!

The superior man is modest in his speech, but exceeds in his actions.

Confucius

Action without prior thinking is not okay, but no action is not recommendet either. You have to act, only through your actions you can make a difference. Don’t brag about your achievements or stress people out by always talking about your plans. Speak less of your plans and instead get more of them done!

Us that information

A fool despises good counsel, but a wise man takes it to heart.

Confucius

Don’t be one of those critique-hating fools that can’t take any counsel. Be happy that other people are trying to help you. And even if they are not, even if they just give advice for the sake of criticizing, take the best out of it. Make use of every ounce of counsel you get!

Easier said than done?

The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his action.

Confucius

There is nothing to add here, awesome quote!

Focus!

Person who chases two rabbits catches neither.

Confucius

Sometimes you have to get your priorities straight!

While multitasking is a good thing in general it is not a general cure for problems. Some tasks just require massive action that you just can not bring up while fulfilling other tasks. Therefore sometimes if you really want something you have to make sacrifices and set your priorities.

It is worth it.
