When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.
This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago.
So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, ‘The good outnumber you, and we always will’.
We’re all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it does not.
We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.
Human beings should feel united, strong and in support for each other since we’re all in the same game of life.
Instead we chose to give ourselves and each other a hard time and tend to drive ourself crazy.
Today I want you to enjoy the circus of life, the crazy experience you are able to enjoy. Smile, Sing, Dance, Jump, enjoy your day! 🙂
Don’t judge someone just because they sin differently than you.
Nobody’s perfect right? Why pick on others for drinking, gambling, cheating, sleeping in, eating fat, not being fit etc.? Everybody sins in his or her own way and accepting that fact and appreciating human beings the way they are makes living way more interesting and inspiring.
I challenge you to live one day without judging people in a serious and/or inappropriate way!
