About time

To realize the value of one year, ask a student who failed a grade.

To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of one day, ask the person who was born on February 29th.

To realize the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of one minute, ask a person who missed the train.

To realize the value of one second, ask a person who just avoided an accident.

To realize the value of one millisecond, ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Time is extremely relative, it’s perception extremely subjective. Try to remember that.

Take on your troubles

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead. Some come from behind. But I’ve bought a big bat, I’m all ready you see.

Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!

Be thankful

Merry christmas, fellow motivationdaily-readers!

I want to make good use of your christmas spirit and motivate all of you to be thankful for what you have in life.

There is always something to be thankful for and today is a good time to be reminded of that fact!

  1.  Be thankful for the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means you have enough to eat.
  2. Be thankful for the mess you clean up after a party, because it means you’ve been surrounded by friends.
  3. Be thankful for the taxes that you pay, because it means you’re employed.
  4. Be thankful that you lawn needs mowing and windows need fixing, because it means you have a home.
  5. Be thankful for your heating bills, because it means you are warm.
  6. Be thankful for the laundry, because it means you have clothes to wear.
  7. Be thankful for the space you find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means you can walk.
  8. Be thankful for the lady who sings off-key behind you in church, because it means you can hear.
  9. Be thankful when people complain about the government, because it means we have freedom of speech.
  10. Be thankful for the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means you’re alive and have something to do!

Also: Let this be a reminder of the fact that it is always about perspective! How you view certain situations and how you react to them is way, way more important than what is actually happening! Always bear that in mind and keep your positivity!

Happy holidays!

Read!

Read!

I found this picture somewhere on the interwebz and thought it was great.

Reading is so damn important!

Yes, personal experience weighs more than indirect, theoretical experience. But you do not have the time to experience everything for yourself.

You can improve your life drastically by reading, by reading a lot!

You create your own happiness!

The most successful people recognize, that in life they create their own love, they manufacture their own meaning, they generate their own motivation.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Please do not waste your time waiting for others to motivate you, for others to gift you happiness!

You are in control of your own luck, of your own happiness, of your own fate!

Why you can not controll what happens to you in life you can always controll how you react to it. Do not let emotions paralyze and blind your brilliant brain.

Stay positive, stay focused, always carry on!

Life starts at the end of your comfort zone

Always do what you are afraid to do.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Don’t get me wrong. You should not do bad or stupid stuff.

Sometimes you are afraid for a goddamn reason and you should always be rational about doing scaring stuff.

But in many cases you are afraid although you exactly know that what you are about to do is the right thing.

In this cases: Have courage, pull through! You can do it!

Dream consciously!

If you can dream it, you can do it.

Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse.

Walt Disney

I personally find Walt Disney to be very inspiring and motivating.

This guy single handedly started a whole era of awesomeness and without him our childhoods would not have been the same.

This guy believed in his dreams and pulled it off.

Will you believe in your dreams too?

Keep an eye on your money

It’s easier to get into debt than it is to get out of debt.

Clifford Kidd

This sounds very mundane but is in fact a very important thing to be aware of!

Never get into debt as long as you have the choice!

Fighting yourself out of debt sucks as hell and it is a pain in the ass to pay off your debts, it is a pain to know that every month you work for someone else and not into your own bank account.

Believe me, I’ve been there, you do not want to be in debt!

Stay positive and keep your account balance positive!

Start today!

By taking a single step you’ve already outperformed millions of people who’ve made excuses.

Start today -whatever it may be- and be proud tommorow.

You’ll harvest in the future what you plant in the present, always remember this!

In it for the money?

You reach a point where you don’t work for money.

Walt Disney

Money can only bring you so far before it won’t be fun anymore.

There will be a point where you start working for your own pleasure, where you do not see work as a duty or as a pain.

Work will be your hobby and you will love it.

But bear in mind: In order for this to happen you need to have a positive mindset about work. Allow your work to affect you in a positive way. As long as you go to your office or place of work with thoughts along the lines of ‘Meh, I hate this job’, you won’t achieve any of those effects.
