My life has no purpose, no direction, no aim, no meaning, and yet I’m happy. I can’t figure it out. What am I doing right?

If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.
Andrew Carnegie
And another brilliant quote from Carnegie, one of my favourite authors.
If you set the right goals for yourself, it is hard not to get happy. Even failing them is not going to discourage you, so always try to set nice goals instead of heading for what the society tells you your goal should be!

The greatest happiness is to transform one’s feelings into action.

Joy can be real only if people look upon their life as a service, and have a definite object in life outside themselves and their personal happiness.
Leo Tolstoi
Tolstoy this sneaky guy, I LOVE hime!
Honestly, I have to agree to a 100% to this! You have to have something to do in your life, not just yourself. If you think about you own happiness all the time, you can’t achieve happiness.
If you care for a family, lead a company, train your body as an athlete, reign a country or do something other meaningfull (to you!), you can attain joy!

It doesn’t matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn’t matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years — we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on.
Sharon Salzberg
On of the best things about life is that it can change every day.
In fact, it can and does change every minute, every second, every moment! And therefore every moment is a moment to develop, a moment for growth.
People can run a boring life for years, they can be depressed for half their lifetime, it won’t change the fact that they can be happy right at this moment. Happiness does not need time for preparation, it is more like a switch that can be flipped on and off.
Also remember that this switch is not flipped by your goddamn environment, friends, family, job, car, house or whatevery, but only by yourself! 🙂

Hey there 🙂
I recently read a story I wanted to share with you because I consider it very helpful:
As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a rope tied to their legs. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.
“Well”, he said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were. The powerful and gigantic creature has limited its present abilities by the limitations of its past.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life holding onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? How many of us refuse to attempt something new and challenging because of our so called MINDSET?
Your attempt may fail, but never fail to make an attempt!
Choose not to accept the false boundaries and limitations created by the past!

Conquer your bad habits or they will conquer you.
Rob Gilbert
Honestly, you HAVE to keep control of your habits!
Your habits form your lifestyle, and eventually your character. They define who you are and how you are percieved.
Don’t let them shape you, shape your habits!

Every exit is an entry somewhere else.
Tom Stoppard
Think about it, there are no one-way doors!
Every door works two-ways which means that every time you quit something, you start something new. Therefore you don’t “lose” something by quitting or exiting a live situation, you change it!
Poeple always fear to lose everything as soon as they change something, which leads to boring lifes in jobs they don’t like! Don’t do that, use doors, use changes, run through the world in a free manner!

Be as smart as you can, but remember that it is always better to be wise than to be smart.
Alan Alda
Of course it is important to be smart.
On top of that it’s simply cool to be smart, it is fun, people enjoy being smart. But being a smart-ass is only half the rent if you don’t know when to shut the fuck up!
There are moments when it is just right to keep your voice down, listen and think and no matter how smart you are, talking will just fuck everything up.
Remember this lesson and you will save yourselves a lot of unnecessary trouble.
