Don’t panic

No matter what happens. Don’t panic!

Hendri Coetzee

No matter which way you choose in life, someday you’ll be faced with a situation you can’t cope with instantly. This is something everybody experiences once in a while. But something not everybody experiences is that loosing ones mind doesn’t solve any problem.

Instead believe that you can do this successfully somehow even when you are not aware of the way yet. And don’t panic…

So what is your excuse?

Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they’re yours.

Richard Bach

When we were little, parents teachers and almost everyone always wanted excuses from us for not doing what we were supposed to do.

That obviously sticked to our brians since the modern person always comes quick with a good excuse.

But you know what? I don’t give a damn!

And neither should you! You can always find excuses, it is not hard.

I’m too cold, I’m too tired, it rains, I can’t manage that, whatever. It is easy to argue why you can’t do something.

But guess what? While you argue why you CAN’T make it, someone is making damn sure that he is making it right now.

So get your head out of your bubt and bring some self-discipline or you’ll have to settle with a life full of procrastination and lazy ass excuses.

Later you will have to find an excuse for why you did not live your life to the fullest, have fun with that!

Parkinson’s Law

This law states the following:

Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.

What does it mean?

Well, basically it says it does not matter if you have to get your car checked within two weeks or two days, you will get it manged either way!

Your brain is a damn efficient thing, use it! You can manage to do stuff way better as soon as you start setting up shorter deadlines.

Homework due to next week? Set youself a deadline for tomorrow and you’ll get it done!

Don’t wait until the last minutes make it count, work in advance!

About procrastination

Well this is acutally advertising, but I don’t care, you won’t get so much good stuff on procrastination in such short time any other way. Enjoy:

The Sunscreen Song

I have mixed feelings about this video for I don’t like the musical part and it comes from a different point of view, but still it contains many undeniable true things and helpfull tips. Enjoy 🙂

Start it!

A year from now on you will look back and know why you started today!

I know it sounds lame but believe me, whatever you are going to start today (reading, exercising, eating healthy etc.), in one year you will definitely thank you for NOT procrastinating this time.

Start today!

Be a leader!

Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.

Vince Lombardi

Learn!

If we do not plant knowledge when young, it will give us no shade when we are old.

Lord Chesterfield

You will learn your entire life.

But why not start early and make the most of it?

Give!

You get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself.

Harvey S. Firestone

This concept is heard often but is rarely seen in action.

I want to elaborate a bit: Some people depend on others to make them happy. They even complain when others “don’t do certain things for them”. They take it for granted that people are there for them.

What it really works like is the following: As long as you are making the best out of yourself, as long as you try to be the best you can be, others appreciate your value. They genuinely like you and therfore support you. And you will do the same to them because they try to do the right, the best thing.

Caring and helping others is not outcome attached, you to it from your inside out. What happens after that (friendships, getting things back eventually) is just a result but should never be the reason for your behaviour.
